How green is your poop pile? I showed ours to google images and found out that:

"Based on the image, this appears to be a lush patch of tarragon growing on a mound of soil within a fenced area.
Plant Type: This perennial herb is known for its distinct aromatic leaves used in cooking.
Growing Condition: It thrives in well-drained soil and prefers full sunlight to thrive.
Cultivation: The mound likely helps improve drainage, which is crucial for preventing root rot in this plant.
Usage: Tarragon is commonly used in French cuisine to flavor vinegars, sauces, and chicken or fish dishes.

What AI did not know is the "mound of soil" is a mound of horse manure. Which means I would not consider using google's stated "Usage". Ever.

Friday's Horses - Maddie & Pete out on pasture. + Around the farm.

The other day our "ponies" stood outside the barn while
Laurie poured grain. Her handmade rope gate is a deterrent.

We caught up with Maddie and Pete this afternoon.

Maddie's gotten good at finding grass.

She stepped away and took a look at her new environment,
still under construction.

Is this a skeptical look in her eye (or my imagination)?

Meanwhile Pete grazed himself into a corner, sort of . . .

While in the mean Maddie found some more good green grass.

In the meantime Pete found another resource.

Once he'd gotten what he wanted, Pete pressed on.

In time it was time for grain. The kids gathered again
in late-day sunlight.

Mommy completed dinner delivery and parked the tractor.
Her horsies were set until tomorrow.
Thank You for looking. See you next Friday.

Around the farm ~
Where in the barn Laurie has cleared a space for a new
frost-free hydrant.
She worked in the upper right corner of the ditch.

Outside the barn, she's filled in most all the connected ditches.

Shadow had herself an exhilarating roll.

On a previous afternoon we snapped her back in the barn.

Today she brought her treasured Jolly Ball along.

Laurie's been installing insulation in the tack room.

We saw shadows from a rake and pitch fork.

And Laurie, in the relaxing room, after digging in a ditch.

Thanks for swinging by ~ see ya next week.

Shadow has an important announcement to bark about!

She liked having her own posting day again. She appreciated your comments today! And said she doesn't care what KC thinks.

They'll always be friends.

Shadow Tuesday this week. She loves to take a walk and check the mailbox.

Shadow was having a lazy day —

until I asked "Do you want to go check the mail?" (Ask a silly question.)

We live on a dead end gravel road with almost no traffic.
Our walk is about a half—mile roundtrip.
On this day we cast shadows heading out and down the hill.

It's quiet where we walk. Shadow likes getting out of the house.

Shadow is attuned to squirrels and birds. She looks up at any sounds.

She's always sniffing,

And looking.

And looking,

And sniffing.

We live on Antler Rd. which branches off from Cleveland Rd.

Our destination, where Laurie put up a big mailbox (5325), so we need not check it daily.

It's a pretty spot and Shadow likes to hang around.

We started back.

We were headed toward the tiny blue spot of sky beneath the trees way up the road.

We always pass by this tree that seems rooted in rock.

Our walks give good exercise for both of us. Plus Shadow loves looking around.

We came to the top of the hill. Our house was visible beyond the trees.

We stepped inside and handed Laurie the mail. Shadow konked out.

As always, it had been a good walk.
Thanks for coming along. Shadow shall see you next Monday with her KC.

About George McGovern

I chose George McGovern for my username because I voted wholeheartedly for him in 1972. Broke my heart when he lost. I consider Mr. McGovern the greatest president who never was. Avatar image is our beloved puppy dog Shadow.
